Police looking to recruit graduates

The UK Police force, which in all its forms collectively employs over 180,000 staff, could become an increasingly popular option for graduates, it has been claimed.
According to the Times, many graduates are now considering careers with the police, which has 43 different forces across England and Wales, and the job offers a generous pay and pension - after 12 weeks' preliminary training the starting salary is £24,675.
There is likely to be a graduate-entry programme by next year and the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) already runs a training scheme for those looking to get into policing.
Chief people officer for the NPIA Angela O'Connor said: "Graduates are an important group within [the workforce], and we will be increasing our efforts to attract them to the challenging and rewarding service that policing offers."
North Yorkshire police recently launched a recruitment campaign for police community support officers (PCSOs), adding to its current roster of 185 PCSOs across the county.
